SoundMAX Install --> blue screen
I have an ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 Motherboard, and I use its onboard sound. I recently reinstalled my OS (Vista 64) and when I went to install the soundmax drivers provided I was given the blue screen "BAD_POOL_CALLER" and a computer crash half way through the installation.
I then tried uninstalling, reinstalling, repairing the installation, and dowloading drivers from the web. Same results. I then reinstalled the OS again. Same results. I went as far as upgrading to Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit) and downloading the soundmax drivers for that OS. I still get the blue screen when I go to install. Anybody know what's up? Help would be greatly appreciated!! |

Re: SoundMAX Install --> blue screen
Lots of people are having this problem but here is a possible solution
http://windows7forums.com/windows-7-...-soundmax.html I also found this tip at another forum Guys go into windows sound (speaker icon in control panel), NOT sound max or any other one. Open up windows sound in control Panel, click on tab that says "communications" and select "do nothing" then apply .... This was a situation I discovered by accident when I was having the same issue back in the day... And it fixed it.... one or the other sounds like it would work. |

Re: SoundMAX Install --> blue screen
I tried both the fixes mentioned in that thread - I still got the same problem when installing the driver. I don't think it has to do with Windows 7 as I had the exact same problem with Vista. Maybe something to do with the motherboard?
