No mic playback?
Hi. I have an HP Pavilion dv4 and Vista SP2. It has an internal mic and a jack for an external one. For some reason, the mic doesn't appear in the playback options. I can record and play back just fine, but I can't get it to play sound from the mic in real time. Apparently this is normally possible; however, the mic doesn't show in the audio mixer at all.
How do I get it to show back up? In the driver section because I think it might be a driver issue, despite having all the most recent ones... |

Re: No mic playback?
mic = microphone
The mic input is for using a microphone. Microphones are for input, they are not a playback device.

Re: No mic playback?
Allow me to rephrase what I meant. Usually there's some way in the settings to get the sound captured from the mic to play through the speakers. This is what I want it to do. Not a recording, I want it to do it live.
