Requesting help with a tiny problem.

My problem's this, i've lost all my drivers(caused by crappy re-install of windows xp). I'd be really glad if i'd get any assistance with finding these drivers, as i said, all of them. hah. So i've been reading some of these threads and i think that here's all you pros require to know. And thanks again.

Dell Dimension 4400 Desktop
Example: Name: Dell Dimension Model Number: 4400

(Name) should be on front of computer or if laptop should be in lower left or right corners of the LCD screen

(Model Number) Desktop - On a sticker, sides or back of tower,
Laptop - on the bottom of laptop there will be a sticker with the model number on it.

Note: these stickers are small usually 1 inch by 2-3 inches long.

Re: Requesting help with a tiny problem.

The computer is "self"made, so i don't think that the sticker exists.

Re: Requesting help with a tiny problem.

Your computer is custom built:

Manufacture - ASUSTeK
Motherboard - P5B-E (Socket 775)

Go here for drivers:
http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx

Install chipset driver first, you may need the utility right below it first.
Graphics (video) driver next and then the rest of the drivers.
Restart computer inbetween each driver installation.

Note: They also have drivers for windows 7 32bit and 64bit.

Re: Requesting help with a tiny problem.

Are you using the onboard graphics card (VIA)?

A full Everest report (a link under my signature)will help us "see" what drivers you need.
Copy and paste the report to Notepad or word and attach the report using the Go Advance option.

Under Utilities download and install this driver (6th on the list)

Version 1.0.13.6
Description ACPI driver for ATK 0110 virtual device version 1.0.13.6 for Windows 2000 / XP (32bit and 64bit) / 2003 (32bit & 64bit) / VISTA (32bit & 64bit)

As for the Video:
It does not appear that the driver is installed
Try reinstalling the driver
If that fails do a manual install of the driver through the Device Manager.

Re: Requesting help with a tiny problem.

I also got a major problem with starting the computer. About 70% of the starts just get suck at the "windows loading screen" and the bar just won't continue. Then i need to shut off the computer, by taking the POWER from the back of the computer
Got the error fixed, but i've still got problems with the video driver and the starting problem.

Re: Requesting help with a tiny problem.

I've been playing with that video driver for some time. Could it be something about this "Plug and Play screen" thing, it seems to require a driver as well.

Re: Requesting help with a tiny problem.

What is the make and model of your power supply?

Did you try to undate the driver through the drvice manager?

Can you run Everest under my signature and attach the Full report to the thread.
Copy and paste the report to notepad and attach the report using Go Advance option.

Thanks,
Bill
