lost folder
I cut a file from my external hard drive and pasted it to the cd drive. The icon faded a little and said waiting to write to cd then the file transfer window came up. About 40 mins later the file transfer was complete and the file disappeared from the cd drive window and the external hard drive window. My question is where did the file go? When you cut something and it is never pasted anywhere else what happens to it. Is there a place where files are stored while waiting to be written to cds? Please help, it was a whole year of pictures.

Re: lost folder
HI,
Have you run the name of the file from the search menu? Use the advance option will it will allow you to search other areas. Search the CD-ROM and the external HD Have you gone to the CD-ROM from MY Computer to see if it is still there? I vey seldom use the cut feature. I usually use copy and paste. This way you are not removing the file (cut in a sense). The Copy feature will make a copy of the file and not remove it from its original source. Last edited by BCCOMP; 10-25-2009 at 08:17 PM. |

Re: lost folder
Double click on your cd/dvd room device in "my computer", the files should be there faded waiting to be written to a cd or dvd, make sure there is a blank disc in the cd/dvd rom device.
