need help about my IDE drive
im currently new here and dont know much about computer stuff
my problem is that my PC takes 4-6 mins to detect my IDE drive after that i can use my pc with no problem... how can i repair this problem need help please |

Try a new cable. Also, since this is an IDE drive, verify how the drive is jumpered and to which connector it is attached. If you are using a newer 80 conductor cable, the connectors are color coded. Master devices connect to the black connector or the connector at the end of the cable. Slave devices connect to the grey connector or the connector in the middle of the cable.

Could be blue too. Check IDE ribbon to make sure it is plugged in tight.
