[SOLVED] Canon PIXMA MP180 =/= Win7 x64?

Hi everyone or anyone!
I picked up this printer the other day to use the scanner.
I have downloaded many drivers from the main sites with the help of the windows driver updating program. Everything seems to work except the program MP Navigator- which is the only way to scan pictures.

"The Scanner driver supported by this software is not installed.
Install it and try again." Pops up whenever I start the program.

I have installed the driver first and then the navigator but still no luck.

Any help/info is appreciated

Hi,
Have you tried the Canon site:
http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/co...&modelid=13370

Select your OS

Let us know how you make out.

Re: Canon PIXMA MP180 =/= Win7 x64?

Yes, naturally that was the first place I went to. Then to some various sites I found on google.

While searching, someone said to install the driver first, then the mp navigator. Did that, didn't help.

Thanks for the help

What errors do you have in the Device Manager (yellow !)?
Do you get any error codes?
Check the driver version installed with what you installed. It maybe Win7 installed a generic driver instead of the Canon driver.

Re: Canon PIXMA MP180 =/= Win7 x64?

Oh I just uninstalled both the driver and MP Navigator program and made sure I downloaded the driver and program for windows 7 x64 then rebooted. I thought I downloaded the right files at first but I really wasn't surprised to get a compatibility error. I should have known I downloaded the wrong files since I started hooking everything up after driving for 15 hours!

In conclusion, the Canon site is just fine. Just make sure what bit os you have.

Thanks Bill
