[SOLVED] High Definition Audio Bus issues... =S
Hello there, everyone!
I have an Alienware m5500i-R3 Series and I'm having a problem: In the Device Manager there is an exclamation sign under the words: Other Devices - Modem Device on High Definition Audio Bus. What it actually happens is that if i want to use earphones, speakers or some device like that, i should have them plugged in before i turn my computer on, and if i unplug them and try to plug it in again it won't work anymore and i will just be able to use the built-in speakers. Then, if i want to use the plug-in devices again, i have to restart windows with the device plugged in. Everest says that my Audio Device is: Motorola Si3054 @ Intel 82801GBM ICH7-M - High Definition Audio Controller [B-0] PCI I can't find such drivers anywhere... not with Alienware, Motorola, Microsoft, Intel, etc etc... no one seems to know where to find them or what to do. ![]() I have already tried many things I've seen in many webs but none seems to have worked. It's not like some apocalyptic issue, but it's very anoying... If you can find a solution you will earn my eternal gratitude!! ![]() Thanks a lot!!

Re: High Definition Audio Bus issues... =S
Thanks a lot! The problem with the modem is now gone from the device manager. The driver was perfect. =D
But the thing on the audio has not stopped. I have used the program that BCCOMP linked me to, but the audio still won't work after I unplug and replug my audio devices =S I'm attaching the Everest Full Report. I had to .rar it to send it. Again, many thanks!

Re: High Definition Audio Bus issues... =S
I am not really good with alienware products, so some info from you may help.
Do you have the Realtek control panel? If so, does it detect when you disconnect and reconnect the device? In the control panel under Sound an Audio check to make sure it is set to Realtek Audio devices as default. Is the BIOS set to default settings? Bill |
