I have just downgraded my acer as1410 11.6" notebook to Window xp pro.
The OS installing was a success, and other drivers were installed fine. But when i tried to install the bluetooth driver, an error message pops out during driver installation, saying that a bluetooth device was not found or not properly connected. Is it the XP version of the driver not working with the device or something wrong with the BIOS? PS: the bluetooth driver came with VISTA was FOXCONN, but the bluetooth driver for XP PRO on the acer website was Broadcom. IS this causing the problem? The bluetooth worked fined when it was VISTA. PLZ, HELP HELP people. |

Re: acer AS1410 11.6" bluetooth not found after downgrading to window xp
Hi,
You can try this Foxconn XP Driver (it may work). Its from a Aspire 3410: Bluetooth If not, please do this: Open the Device Manager Post ALL errors you may have (yellow!) Right click on the error>Properties>Details Tab Post the info you find under Device Instance ID Do this for each error you have Thanks, Bill Last edited by BCCOMP; 10-11-2009 at 11:53 AM. |

I downloaded the entire XP driver pack (including AHCI_Intel_v.8.8.0.1009_XPx86) from Acer's site, slipstreamed them into a custom install CD (via howtogeek http://bit.ly/iGWgE) and still no luck. I also downloaded the drivers directly from Intel, but they're packaged in exe's and I can't expand them, "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing this software." Thoughts? |

Re: acer AS1410 11.6" bluetooth not found after downgrading to window xp
Hi,
Acer has the SATA driver on thier site: AHCI Intel SATA AHCI Driver 8.8.0.1009 Acer website: http://us.acer.com/acer/service.do;j...CRC=2141378519 Did you extract the driver to a folder and then slipstream the contents of the folder to your custom XP CD? |

Re: acer AS1410 11.6" bluetooth not found after downgrading to window xp
Thanks for following up.
I downloaded the drivers and extracted to a folder. I used nLite to create a custom XP install and pointed it to the driver folder (nLite says the installation grew by 22 MB). When I boot up the Acer, the XP install starts, but I am left with no recognizable mass storage. I assumed the slipstreaming would have put the drivers in a place to be automatically recognized by the XP installer. Is there a better way to create a slipstreamed XP install? I've downloaded AutoStreamer but haven't tried it yet. nLite seemed to have a very detailed option screen. Do I need to <F6> and search for the driver? |

try changing setting in BIOS, u need to change AHCI to IDE, then XP installation would recognize the HDD.
OR maybe i misunderstood u.... let me know |

You will need to install the driver after you have XP installed and then switch it back in the BIOS.

Re: acer AS1410 11.6" bluetooth not found after downgrading to window xp
Two more follow ups:
1. Crazy, did you ever go back to AHCI? I tried to install drivers from Acer and Intel, both say the computer does not meet minimum requirements. Tried to switch IDE to AHCI in BIOS, but then it wouldn't boot. 2. How did the Bluetooth end for you? I'm having the same problem. Slipstreamed the Broadcom package, uninstalled and added the Foxconn one, both report no bluetooth device. Bluetooth File Versions: Bluetooth_Foxconn_5.5.0.7000_XPx86XPx64_A Bluetooth_Broadcom_5.5.0.7500_XPx86_A Thank you both for your help and suggestions. I really appreciate them. |

Bluetooth still does not work, it seems no driver would recognize its bluetooth device |
