I have a compaq Presario with Vista. When I try to burn a CD on itunes I get a warning note. "the registry settings used by itunes for importing and burning CDs are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other cd burning software. Please reinstall itunes". I have not install new software but an HP tech did some work on my PC and may have activated other software. How can I get it back to itunes? HP nor Apple have been of any help.

Re: Need itunes help
Might have a solution here - if other info i have read is correct, then it won't make a different how many times you try uninstalling and re-installing.
Drivers produced by GEAR Software are used by iTunes for the CD burning capabilities. These are used in place of needing something like Nero to run along side iTunes. Windows Media Player can also burn straight to CDs - it most likely uses something similar. Go to http://www.gearsoftware.com/support/drivers.php and download "Driver_Installer_x86_x64.exe" The drivers are Microsoft Certified so Vista shouldn't whine about them. The drivers were last updated 1th June 2009 so they are pretty up to date. Unfortunately I do not know whether this problem occurs as the result of a Service Pack installation or not. |
