Yes, it is a lot of work and thats is why an IT tech charges what they do.
Considering the time it took you to get this up and running (by your self) though, I think you saved a little

Just glad you were able to do it and saved ALL this info.
Make sure you have a good backup program to backup this drive, so you do not have to go through this again
