Drivers Acer Aspire 7730+HDD's slipstreamen
Hey,
The driver's on the site of acer http://tiny.cc/hePUn don't work except for the cardreader driver and the chipset driver, I downgraded from vista to xp, didn't slipstream my second harddisk just simply disabling that setting in boot from ide's/raid/sata something like that. Than 1 hdd appeared and I thought, well I'll just dld the driver once xp is installed way more easy than slipstreaming blabla. so 2 problems, I can't get on the internet cause USB's dont function while attemting to install numerous drivers I get diverse failures one of them being; Can't instal, need newer version of win xp. Ironically my wifi carddriver functioned but didn't install wpa2posserbilities therefore lacking an internetconnection. the lan cable doesn't accept internet either. So could anyone tell me please do I have to install the drivers in a msdos environment for them to function? and is there a easy way of gaining optimal use of my second hd? The laptop is: Acer Aspire 7730G-734G64MN Thanks for the help, |

Re: Drivers Acer Aspire 7730+HDD's slipstreamen
What service pack is installed?
You should have atleast SP2. Is this XP OS legit with Key Code? You should slipstream the Sata driver for install of XP. The Vista HD has the Sata drivers and the BIOS needs to be set to Sata for this HD to be detected. If your Dual Booting two HD they should be set to the same controller in the BIOS (Sata) The site (Acer) has all the drivers for XP (Use the Filter for OPERATING SYSTEM) |

Re: Drivers Acer Aspire 7730+HDD's slipstreamen
The Sp2 won't instal file = corrupt, well I guess I'll give that one another try and ofcourse I have used the Filter for Operating system and chosen xp pro x32 and those are the ones who result in failures but I think once I've gotten the sp2 on it again I'll try to slipstream the hdd's and redo the proces of installing win xp. thanks.

Re: Drivers Acer Aspire 7730+HDD's slipstreamen
Thanks for the help, the sp2install file was erroneously copied to a damaged sd card, sp1 was to, sp3 needed the above, and I forgot that usb was to be installed without drivers, so passed sp2 on cd installed sp2 than 3 than the usb with inet, so it's up and running again only without 640gig but 320, so I'm gonna repeat the procedure and slipstream the hdd's to optain full diskcapacity
