Hey,
I recently restored my computer to its factory setting cos pretty much it was ******, kept freezing on the start up page and within windows. So i backed up all my files to my external hard drive and restored it to its factory settings. Everything is fine now but when i shoved my ethernet cable into the back of it, the computer doesnt even register it and won't connect to the internet. Ive gone into the internet tools and tried to create a new connection but that still doesnt work. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Cheers guys |

Re: Rebooted Computer wont connect to internet
Go to Start/Run and type devmmgmt.msc and hit enter. In the Device Manager if you have a yellow mark next to Network Adapters then you need to go to your computer manufacturers support web site and download any drivers that are marked with the Yellow from a working internet computer and save them to a Flash Drive and install them on this computer.

Rite went to device manager and found that there was a yellow ! next to the ethernet controller - clicked on that and it said it wasnt installed so i click on reinstall but that it stop saying that it had not passed windows logo testing to verify its compatibility with windows XP. It gave me the option to continue or to stop so i put it on hold til i spoke to you guys and got some advice, any ideas? Cheers |
