Need network controller driver
I'm trying to get the network controller driver for this HP Pavilion ze5200 laptop. I was uninstalling uneccesary programs and accidentally deleted this one. I've downloaded the wireless driver from HP's website and it didn't help. My system info program tells me that the mother board is model 0850 by HP.
If anyone can help that would be AWESOME! Thanks! |

Re: Need network controller driver
Hi,
Is this the LAN or the wireless LAN you are refering to? Also is this a ZE5200CTO or ZE5200. HP list several models: http://h20180.www2.hp.com/apps/Looku...x=7&submit.y=7 Bill |

Re: Need network controller driver
Hey BIll, thanks for the quick reply. I've tried the drivers on both models. I'm not sure which one it is. I believe I'm needing a driver for the motherboard, but I can't be certain.

Re: Need network controller driver
Look for the service tag on the bottom of the laptop and post the number.
Are you tring to connect to the internet wirelessly or hardwired? Bill |

Re: Need network controller driver
I've got numbers all over the bottom of this thing and nothing says service tag. But I do have a sticker that says model xt575 and there is an HP serial number CN30932956
I'm trying to connect wirelessly. I installed a D-Link USB wireless card and got on the internet. Then I started uninstalling stuff so as to free up some memory (this thing only has 500mb), but after I uninstalled something I believe was the HP wireless network controller (or something to that effect) the internet stopped. I tried re-installing the D-Link wireless card but I get the same problem. |

Re: Need network controller driver
See if this helps you with the product #:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/d...t_page=product If you are sure of the model # XT575 then this should be the link: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...product=298467 It list several under Network, but if you go to the Device Manager and post the error you have (Yellow !) then right click on this error>Properties>Details tab. Post the info you find under Device Instance ID. This will help me narrow it down. Bill Last edited by BCCOMP; 09-04-2009 at 10:19 PM. |

Re: Need network controller driver
I got all the files I needed. Thanks so much for your help! Everything is working perfectly. Now all I have to do is max this thing out on memory and it's good to go! Thanks again for everything.

Re: Need network controller driver
Glad to hear it.
I hope the links I posted worked for you, did they? If this is a XT575 the max memory is PC2100 at 1GB. You only have two slots so you will need (2) 512Ram PC2100. Bill |
