ethernet and speaker not working after reinstall

My ethernet connection and speakers are not working after reinstalling XP on my Acer Aspire T135 - T970.

I presume this is due to drivers missing or needing update.

Im a little out my depth here so some help would be greatly appreciated

Hi,
Go to control panel/system/hardware/device manager and you will see an expanded + sign with yellow icons. This tells you what drivers are missing. Go to the link above and get the drivers you need and install the chipset first, reboot and install the rest. The Lan driver is your ethernet.

Thanks for the quick reply, i have got the chipset and unziped it but cant work out how install it!

Keep opening the unziped folder until you get to setup icon. If it does not install, then you probably don't need it. What yellow icons are in device manager?
