saving drivers before reinstall

hello,

I want to reinstall xp on my laptop and wipe the lot. I was just wondering if I could save all the drivers needed to run all the hardware, sound card, wireless, modem, graphics card etc etc... to save time of searching for them all on the internet afterwards.

Im not the greatest on pc's so if you could explain it as easy as posible it would be great.

The laptop is a sony vaio pcg-7m1m

Re: saving drivers before reinstall

Hi,
When I entered your number, it gave me VGNF S515B, then directed me to Europe. Do not want to give any advice until number and or country is known for sure. It also said the number is located on the back or bottom. You want to compare componets in device manager and have the drivers backed up from the sony website.

Re: saving drivers before reinstall

hello
for that issue I always use DriverMax it's a reliable little software that updates and backup all your drivers
download it from here:
http://download.cnet.com/DriverMax/3...-10572602.html

as for your laptop this is the driver page for VGN FS515E

Re: saving drivers before reinstall

You should have a recovery partition go to
start/programs/my club vaio
click documentation
select recovery guide
will allow you to wipe and restore to factory settings
should tell you how to make recovery disc's
backup your drivers and data
