[SOLVED] Dell Latitutde D610 4 drivers lost
I have a refurbished laptop, at least for 3 years. I had the worm that is going around and infected computer, many Trojans and multipliers. A big mess. I reloaded my windows xp CD, did remember to make copies of documents, music but not Ethernet, which I did get from driver downloads. The ones I can not find are Multimedia controller, PCI Modem, PCI Simple Communications, and Video Controller VGA compatible. Have no idea where to get them, son sent me a cd with drivers for the Latitudes but the D610 is not on all the drivers listed. Any ideas? Keep going to drivers and downloads but they aren't listed.

Re: Dell Latitutde D610 4 drivers lost
Hello and Welcome to TSF,
Before installing the drivers - since you have had so many infections in the laptop, heres what to do first: Go here for a HD utility: http://www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?ttid=287 If your not able to find one for the laptop then heres 2 you can choose form: Killdisk - http://www.killdisk.com/downloadfree.htm Dban - http://www.dban.org/download Go here for imgburn: http://www.imgburn.com/ Now burn the ISO image to a cd disc. Perform a HD test and a full erase of HD Go here for drivers: http://support.dell.com/support/down...&catid=&impid= Burn the drivers here to a disc. Notes: Install the chipset or chipsets drivers first before any other driver, also reboot pc inbetween each driver installation. Window installation: 1. Enter bios - Set boot order to boot cd first 2. Use the HD utility - Test and complete a full erase of HD 3. Install windows 4. Install drivers 5. Go into device manager - list any devices that has yellow ! marks by them 6. Install antivirus and antispyware protection 7. Update windows using the windfow update icon found by clicking on the start button 8. Your done Note: If you have any problems here just post back for help.

Re: Dell Latitutde D610 4 drivers lost
Thank you for your reply.
Last night after I posted I went back to dell/downloads.Instead of windows xp when everything came I changed it to windows 2000 and the bios came up for the dell D610 I download that and after I restarted the computer 2 drivers came back, I read your note and there was one chip set on the downloads , did that and all drivers are back. I did forgot to tell after getting the internet back did get my anti-virus back and ran it, and malware and spy-ware. After loading the drivers ran a full scan, malware etc and no viruses or malware. spy-ware.
