[SOLVED] Can't clear driver to reinstall

running vista sp1 on a asus cs5111

[dumbass]tried to update my azurewave LAN card with a ralink driver.[/dumbass]

it didn't work.

now device manager says the LAN card is ralink.

now I can't reinstall the correct driver and am grasping at straws.

I have tried a system restore.

I have tried cc cleaner and driver sweaper.

anything from here would be great.

ty for any time you have to spare.

Re: Can't clear driver to reinstall

I tried to update because I was losing wifi connection intermittently.

This may have been caused by a power saving option in vista.

I am trying to install the driver off a disc that came with the pc, as I am unable to locate any driver information from the azurewave website.

My most recent ideas were to delete the file, then run defrag. [failure]

Also tried running cc cleaner and driver sweaper and deleting the driver in the system32 folder, all while in safe mode. [failure]

Re: [SOLVED] Can't clear driver to reinstall

Had to move files to an external drive then reinstall vista to fix this.

After repeated attempts to reinstall the correct driver, vista finally started reporting an error 31.

note: After the reinstall, my device manager still incorreectly lists ralink as my wireless card manufacturer.
