Driver Issue & Internet

hey guys i wonder if you could help me. im having trouble connecting to the internet from my PC. it was working fine i went out only to come back and it wasnt working. the modem and wireless router is working fine as i can connect to the internet via my laptop. i plugged the cable i normally use into my laptop and this also works therefore there must be a problem on my PC. i was told i might have a driver issue? im currently using vista and i have a ! warning sign in between the two computers on the bottom right corner of my desktop. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Dan!

Re: Driver Issue & Internet

Have you tried a "Repair"? If you have the Internet Icon in the lower right corner (by the clock) I believe you can Right Clik on it and some repair options open.
If not, it's in Control panel.

Re: Driver Issue & Internet

hi check in device manager for any error flags either yellow ! or red Xs in network adapters,it may be worthwhile updating your ethernet adapters driver anyway go to comp makers support website and get the newest and install you may need to disable your antivirus.on other thing you could try before doing anything else is system restore

Re: Driver Issue & Internet

What does the warning sign say if anything?

Note: I have experienced trouble with vista windows when connecting wirelessly
to the internet but the problem I have found that it was windows firewall blocking
my connection because I was using a third party firewall which was built into my
protection (kaspersky) FIX: was simply to disable the windows firewall through
wiondows defender.
