Audio driver issues
I have recently rebuilt my Gateway 500SE computer. I used the original disks with the computer and everything install properly except for the on board audio. I have been to the Gateway and Intel site and downloaded the audio drivers specific for that motherboard and I keep getting the same error. After extracting and running the .exe the driver install starts and then comes up and says no driver has been found please restart your computer and try to install the driver again. No matter how many times I do this I get the same thing. I have checked the BIOS and the onboard audio is enabled. Under the control panel the audio section shows no devices found. When I checked the device manager all the audio drivers are listed and found working properly. I have also ran a diagnostic on the computer from a disk I had from my last job and it ran through the whole system and found no errors. At this point I am truely lost on what to do next. I have worked on computers for over 8 years now and this one has gotten me. If you have any ideas let me know.

Re: Audio driver issues
Yes I have tried that was also. Last night the wierdiest thing happened. I used a USB sound device and I have sound through my headset. I have nothing off the board itself but I do through USB. At this point I am happy with my USB device, as long as it works.
