OS: windows vista 64bit


Need your help

Hello im a new member and i need your help. when i use canyourunit.com it states that my Video Card Driver Version (DirectX) version number is: 8.14.10.671 is outdated so how do i update this? My video card is ati raddeon hd 4870

Things i done
installed latest catalyst driver

tried to install directx 10 but it says a have an apporiate version so no need to update.

When i go to dxdiag it says my display driver is 8.14.10.671
what it says

8.14.10.671 sounds more like the your graphics cards driver version than the Direct X version.
Using dxdiag,

Windows 7, and probably Vista, the Direct X info is listed under "System" at the bottom of the box.

When i go to device manager it says my video card driver is 8.620.0.0. It says my version of directx is direct 10. My games are running fine. When i go to dxdiag its says my display drive is .14.0010.0671.

another problem i cant select directdraw, direct3d accerlation. It says its enabled but theres no option to click it.

I believe DirectX 10 would be the latest for Vista.
The latest Catalyst for the 4870 was released on 6/15/2009 but I don't know the version number.

My 4870 driver is 15/05/20098. version 620.0.0,

Also i tried 3dmark06 to see if theirs a problem with my video card and i got a score of 13958. However during two graphic test my television/ computer changed my resolution and my framerate was 1.

My computer is: No overclocking

Oh yea all my games run fine except oblivion. When i play the game my framerate is all over the place.

oh i found something new on my Catalyst control center, when i go to graphic information it says


Direct3D Version 8.14.10.0671

i thought i had version 10, how can i update this?
