Hey guys! I have this really problem. I recently installed Windows 7 and learned that by upgrading my drivers I can get a better range. Well that exactly what I did. Or tried... I found out that I had a Belkin Wireless G adapter, F5D7000 and the version was 4000tt. After doing this I went to the website and downloaded version 4xxx. It gave me a driver for a Broadcom Adapter. I think this may be the chip, unsure
. So now whenever I run it (the wireless configuration utility) it gives me this message : The wireless network adapter could not be accessed. This application may have diminished functionality as a result. Any help? Thanks! Oh and BTW, I can still connect to my router, but am using the default windows thingy. Thanks

Re: Belkin Wireless G Adapter Drivers?
Are you running 32 or 64 bit Windows7?
Are you running the 32 or 64 bit version of the wireless adapter drivers? Did you download Windows 7 or Windows Vista drivers? If Windows Vista drivers, did you install them in Compatibility mode for ALL USERS, selecting "Run as Windows Vista" and "Run as adminsitrator"?

Re: Belkin Wireless G Adapter Drivers?
Forgot to mention. 64 bit drivers. There was not 32/64 bit version, just a download. I am thinking its 32 bit. They were Vista drivers. How do I install under Compatibility mode? Or do I just run it in compatibility mode?
P.S. The only way to get to the shortcut is in control panel. I can't enable compatibility mode. Last edited by Yelnats; 07-18-2009 at 01:54 PM. |
