Need assistance locating & downloading latest...

... HP G6000 nVidia display driver(s).

I'm currently having issues in which my screen is black upon reaching the Windows logo in the boot-up process. While searching around on the web, I found that my display drivers may be out of date and need updating, which may fix the problem.

So, in this interest, any assistance finding the most up-to-date display drivers for this laptop model would be thoroughly appreciated.

EDIT: I would simply using my functional copy of Drivercleaner (which supposedly finds the latest drivers and install them for me) in order to locate these drivers, but as I can't access my computer in any way other than through safe mode, I'm unable to properly download these driver updates provided by the application.

If you could open Device Manager, right click on the graphics card and select properties. Then click on the details tab. Post the VEN and DEV numbers.
On screen it should look like this:
PCI/VEN_5333&DEV_8C2E
This example is of a S3 Graphics SuperSavage/IXC 1014 which is long out of production.

joeten that would be a good tip if hp actually had the driver on the website. They however do not and so that idea will not work.

Here's the only number I got for the NVIDIA GeForce 7000M / nForce 610M. I followed your instructions, here's the code displayed under 'Device Instance Id':

PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0533&SUBSYS_30EA103C&REV_A2\3&2411E6FE&0&90

I've tried this in safe mode with networking, but it still wouldn't connect through my wireless connection to the internet in order to process the updates.

Re: Need assistance locating & downloading latest...

The driver you are looking for is indeed for a GeForce 7000M / nForce 610M. The problem with getting such a driver is that each notebook manufacturer makes a different driver. You will need to talk to HP tech support to see if they can send you one. Otherwise you are mostly out of luck.

The notebook was made by Hewlett Packard computers, I believe the exact model is 'HP G6000EA'. Also, sorry for my late reply.

EDIT: Model may also be 'HP G6060EA', but I'm sure it's the former '6000ea' model.
