hi, i was unsure on which thread/forum to post in but i am currently running Windows Vista Ultimate x64 SP1 'I Think'
, on a ASUS P5QL-EM mobo which has the 8CH onboard sound. i have 4GB's ram and 3 500GB hdd's. lol.i am experiencing issues with my audio, as in i can't listen to music or even dvd's in 5.1 surround sound. i am using windows media player 11 btw. i have some screenshots to show the settings i have enabled for my sound - through the HD Realtek Audio Manager - and also the info displayed in device manager. the problem: i have onboard surround sound as i no longer have drivers for my sound card, and i cannot play music or dvd's through all 6 speakers. ![]() however !!!!!!! all the speakers work if i turn the speakers themselves up - as in on the remote - to max, and also during the testing through the manager. ![]() im at my wits end !!!!! and frankly im of it. ive tried everything under the sun. ![]() if anybody has any ideas/tips/solutions please advise - im begging lol, or if you require further information please ask. thanks....

Re: Realtek Onboard Audio Help Needed
check what device is selected in sound and audio setup - you may have more than one sound output device - it should indicate 'Realtek' and not 'Modem' etc. - this has happened to me.
