[SOLVED] Finding the correct drivers...
I just did a clean install of xp pro on a custom built pc with an MSI MS-6373 K7N420 Pro motherboard, and I cannot seem to find the correct drivers for the ethernet and SM Bus controllers. I cannot connect to the internet because the LAN adapter is not even being recognized by the OS. I have the ethernet card connected to a westell att dsl modem, and the lights all indicate that there is a connection, but no connections are showing up in the OS. How do I go about finding and installing the correct drivers so that I can connect to the internet? Any help or information will be greatly appreciated. I am also having some RAM problems with the MOBO. I have the two extra slots filled but the MOBO is only recognizing the primary slot. This is an older system, for an elderly person that only uses the computer to read email and such.

Check Device Manager and see if you have devices with yellow/red marks or under UNKNOWN. Get their Device Instance IDs and include each in your next post.

Re: Finding the correct drivers...
if your Ethernet card is built in the motherboard just go MSI website and search for your motherboard model and download the driver
if the Card is PCI give us the make and model so we can help you to find the right drivers

Re: Finding the correct drivers...
Thanks everyone for your help. I was able to download the chipset drivers from the msi website. Just wasn't looking in the right place. Everything working fine now. Except for the RAM problem, but I am going to try and update the BIOS and see if that solves that. Thanks again!!!
