[SOLVED] ethernet control drivers needed

i reinstalled xp today because my computer was acting very weird.any way the Ethernet control driver is missing and i cant get on the internet on my desktop so i cant seem to up date the other missing drives or use any other programs that would help find them because most require internet.any if u guys could help i would appreciate it alot.my computer is Gateway GT5014 im running windos xp.also this one program that helps identify missing drives tells me this. intel corporation 8280 1gb i/o controller hub. idk maybe that will help

well i tried all of those and nothing neither one of them helped im still missing the ethernet controllers driver will some one plz help me.i did find out my chipset is an Intel® 945G and im running windos xp media center edition

try installing uniblue driverscanner... it will update all outdated drivers...

or go to this site

scroll down... under network downloads, download that driver and lets see...

thats ur m/b driver for ethernet.. im sure!!!

well trapt that dint work after i get the file on my computer when i use run to locate the file to install it it says that it is not there ive tried this twice and risky that dint do anything it just ran installed it self and idk wat it was suppose to do but it dint do a thing.

I suggest you get the network drivers from the Gateway website (see my link I posted in this thread). Extract the driver in a folder then do a manual install of the driver.

well trigger is not working i downloading and i follow the instructions when i i use run to install the program it tells me that the file is not there

Is the network card onboard the motherboard of a addin card? You may have to pull it to see what brand/Model it is

Type in the motherboard model in google and if it is a pci card you need to find the model number in there and find it on google

well thanks to every one that tried helping me but i couldn't seem to find the right drivers so i gave up and got a computer tech guy to come check it out and he fixed it for 40 bucks and its working now better than ever
