Audio driver for HP Pavilion d5237cl

So, my sound is not working.

I'm gone to hp.com and installed the driver. It's still not working.

I've had this problem since I reformatted my laptop a week ago.

I can't, for the LIFE of me, remember what I've done before for my audio driver whenever I reformatted my laptop. I think I installed another driver, but I can't remember what.

If anyone has a solution, thanks in advance.

hello
this should be your audio drivers:

Hi -

Based on what I see in your logs posted in the removal section, this issue may be related. Please hold off on any changes till we solve that issue.

Re: Audio driver for HP Pavilion d5237cl

I was afraid that was the issue, tetonbob.
I'm not on my own laptop right now, but once I get home I will run RSIT and post the log in my System Security thread.
Thanks.

You were right, tetonbob!
Once ComboFix ran, my sound came on! Hallelujah! =D

Sorry about the double post.

Re: Audio driver for HP Pavilion d5237cl

To others reading this thread...please note. The tool tokixjam is referring to is a powerful malware removal tool, and would not be something to run simply because your sound is acting up. ComboFix should not be run unless directed to by an experienced helper. As it turns out, some of the computer's registry settings were hijacked.

Since tokixjam's sound issues appear to be resolved, I'll lock this thread now.
