Reinstalled Win Xp, Sound dont work

ive read the forums to find some answers, but i see similar ones, but not quite my problem. I reinstalled Windows xp because i wanted to start over, ive installed every possible thing i think of, but when i go into itunes or anything like that, it says i cant play them because the sound device is messed up or something. so people tell me its the drivers, so i go to install them, and i get this thing called (driver detective) it runs, but it says i need microsoft .net framework or something to run driver detective. so i figure i got to windows update, but it doesnt work, everytime i go to windows.com, it says its a broken link or page cant be displayed. i find that quite a few websites have this problem. plz help, thx in advance

Re: Reinstalled Win Xp, Sound dont work

Hello,

Post the make/model of the PC. If this is a custom build then post the specs.

MB,RAM,CPU,PSU,etc

Click Start > Run > type devmgmt.msc

When Device Manager opens list the entries with ? or ! beside them
