Driver error causing BSOD
First... My PC:
Windows XP Pro Service Pack 3 (was SP2 when problem occured) 4GB DDR2 RAM XFX NVIDIA 8800 GeForce ASUS M2N320-SLI Series SoundMAX HD Audio 750W Corsair PSU Every so often my pc with freeze up, skip around a bit and BSOD on me. It happens randomly or when its under a bit of stress from some loading in a game or something and sometimes i cant even get back into windows. It'll get past the windows loading screen and shut down again. I was just able to log into my PC normally and record the windows error that had occurred, its as follows: BCCode : 10000050 BCP1 : A85D89D8 BCP2 : 00000001 BCP3 : 805C0A35 BCP4 : 00000000 OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 3_0 Product : 256_1 C:\DOCUME~1\Steve\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER61cc.dir00\Mini062809-05.dmp C:\DOCUME~1\Steve\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER61cc.dir00\sysdata.xml --------------------------------------------------------------------------- BCCode : 10000050 BCP1 : B0E167A2 BCP2 : 00000000 BCP3 : 805A629E BCP4 : 00000000 OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 3_0 Product : 256_1 C:\DOCUME~1\Steve\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER61cc.dir00\Mini062809-05.dmp C:\DOCUME~1\Steve\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER61cc.dir00\sysdata.xm --------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've tried updating to SP3, checkdisc, and updating my video drivers (couldnt find a driver for my sound) Any advice is worth trying. Im currently logged onto windows and ready to try something. If im in the wrong forum i'm sorry i figured this might be appropriate. Please move me if not. |

OK so it took me a while to get a BSOD again but here it is in full:
A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again follow these steps: Check to be sure you have adequate disk space. If a driver is identified in this stop message, disable the driver or check with the manufacturer for driver updates. Try changing video adapters. Check with your hardware vendor for any BIOS updates. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use safe mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode. Technical Information: *** STOP: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0x8054BFD2, 0xB3D46974, 0x00000000) Beginning dump of physical memory Physical memory dump complete. Contact your system administrator or technical support group for further assistance. After i started my pc again this showed up: A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again follow these steps: Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any windows updates your might need If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use safe mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode. Technical Information: *** STOP: 0x00000050 (0xA85D89DC, 0x00000001, 0x805C0A35, 0x00000000) Beginning dump of physical memory Physical memory dump complete.
