Verizon PC5750 with Windows 7 on IBM T43

Fresh install of 32-bit Windows 7 Ultimate on an IBM T43, everything else seems to work fine, but the Verizon Wireless install doesn't detect the card. I've run all Windows Updates. I've downloaded from http://www.vzam.net/download/downloa...?productid=264 [version 6.10.10 (2246b)]. The "Check for Updates" button says that it is the latest

Device manager detects it as "Unknown device" and the VZAccess Manager says "waiting for the wireless device to be inserted" but never finds it.

Am I just too far ahead with Windows 7?

I was using XP SP3.

Interestingly, the problem is now resolved. The only change I made (other than a reboot and several poorly directed expletives) was to copy PTDCWWAN.sys from the old \windows\system32\drivers to the new and suddenly VZAM is able to address the card.
