[SOLVED] DVD/CD-ROM drives don't work

I first noticed the problem when any CD I tried to run simply would not. I am not very computer savvy so I am having trouble understanding what is wrong. When I open up "Device Manager" and click on "DVD/CD-ROM drives" two things appear called "LITE-ON LTR-24102B" and"HL-DT-ST DVD-ROM GDR8160B" (I have no clue what these names are supposed to signify).

If I look at the properties of either one this message is written: "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)".

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling and that doesn't work. I don't know how to find an updated version if that's what I'm supposed to do.

If anyone could help me I would greatly appreciate it.
