dvd\cd writer dose not write

I have a ligthscribe dvd\cd writer will reconize any cd\dvd disc except a blank one to burn on. Running xp. Thanks for any help.

HI,
Do you have any errors in the Device Manager?

Have you uninstalled the drivers for your Lightscribe rom and reinstall?
Go to the Device manager.
Right click on the LightScribe Rom (Under DVD/CD Roms)>Uninstall.
Reboot the computer, XP will reinstall the driver.

I uninstalled the driver and rebooted. Same problem. Went and down loaded upgraded software for lightscribe with no success. I don't understand why I can play a prevously burnt cd in the drive or any other cd\dvd but it won't pick up a blank cd or dvd to burn.

Did you delete the upper/lower filters?
Are you using the correct Media?
