[SOLVED] Downgraded to XP, need drivers[MOVED]

I recently decided to dual boot Vista Home Premium with Windows XP Media
Center 2005. However, I cannot seem to find important drivers for my graphics
card, sound card, etc... and because of this, my XP partition isn't working well.

Both operating systems are on different partitions.
My laptop is a HP Pavilion dv6864ca.

I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get the drivers, or where a good
place to look would be, thanks.

IF any drivers are available for that model, they will be available from the HP website. But don't be surprised if that model doesn't have XP support.

Probably you did this already but I just wanted to ask, have you check the HP website at all?

I have checked the HP website. I landed on a page saying they did not offer any XP
support, however, in the drivers section, they have XP drivers for download, just not
drivers i really need like my graphics card or my sound card. They do have some for other
models though.

You're going to have to look up each one manually. For example, you have a Nvidia GeForce 8400M GS. So you go to Nvida.com > Drivers > look up your mode > and it brings you to this page:

download > install > open > expand Computer > click on Summary > your hardware info will be on the right panel

Thank you for the links, the help is appreciated. This and the sticky i found
in the laptop section was enough to get things working, so thank you.

Just a bit of work is needed for my wireless but I'm sure i can get that part
working, so my situation is pretty much resolved.

HI,
Do you know what wireless card you have?
If you are not sure go to the Device Manager.
Post ALL the errors you have.

Also on these errors:
Right click on the error>Properties>Details Tab
Post the info you find under Device Instance ID.

Is this the thread you used to get most of you drivers?

My problem has been fixed. If anyone was interested in how, i followed this guide :

and then I used the scanner on www.touslesdrivers.com to scan my pc
and show me available drivers for download.
