HD 4670 Help
Hello
Ok, let me start this off by saying I have no idea what the hell I am doing so any help needs to be given as though you are addressing an idiot :) I installed a hd 4670 in my pc yesterday after my other graphics card died on me. I've downloaded the driver for this from three separate places and each time nothing helps. It will say installation is complete, but the computer doesn't recognize the card exists. The program isn't found under the program files where it has supposedly installed. And the computer is still showing the other card as being installed although I have deleted the program. Not sure what else you might need to know in order to help me, but just let me know and i will do my best to get you the information. thanks!!!!!!!!!! |

Re: HD 4670 Help
Which drivers did you install? When you get a new graphics card it usually comes with a drivers CD and that's where you should be installing from if in doubt.
The other option is to go to http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx then click your OS, your card (I would guess 4600 series), and download from there. When you say the computer doesn't recognize the card exists, what do you mean? When you go in device manager (control panel (classic view), device manager), what do you see under display adapters? If it shows another card, right click it and pick uninstall. |

Re: HD 4670 Help
Let's back up a minute on that option in the device manager (start, control panel, system, hardware, device manager, display adapter) and try something a little different.
Go there and DISABLE (right click, disable...do not uninstall) the options under the video adapter that pertain to your OLD card. Shut down, reboot and when it comes back up, put the drivers for your new card in there and it should work. Let us know if this doesn't work. Note: If this old card was an onboard, you must also enter the bios setup menu and change the boot sequence for the old card from onboard to pci-e.
