[SOLVED] Drivers say need to reboot...after reboot.

Hi guys (and gals), recently I installed the latest drivers for my Creative X-Fi ExtremeGamer sound card and I've still got blue screens because of it, but I don't think they installed properly because when I try to reinstall them it tells me that I have installed the drivers and haven't rebooted yet, even though I've rebooted plenty of times since and I just can't reinstall.

Any way of getting around it or anything?

Thanks in advance!

Hello and welcome to TSF,

Did you disable audio in the bios for onboard audio?

Re: Drivers say need to reboot...after reboot.

Don't think so, but could you tell me why it would make a difference to driver installation (or at least, this problem) please?

And thank you, it's nice to be here =P

You also need to disable onboard audio in the bios.

Re: Drivers say need to reboot...after reboot.

Yes dai I agree with you and I have the same setup on my pc also,
but what I was thinking here that there was a conflict of getting the
sound card driver to install for the sound card. Thought it might be easier
is all.

Re: Drivers say need to reboot...after reboot.

Thanks for the replies guys, but it's working now. I uninstalled the original drivers, found the sound card and then installed the drivers properly now. Still got onboard audio enabled though =P

Thanks again =)
