Grin Pc to laptop

Ill try and explain, ive got 1 PC and 1LAPTOP the PC is hard wired to the internet and the LAPTOP isnt (its WI-FI) Ive heard that you can run the LAPTOP Through the PC, so ive got a EW-7128g EDIWIN --802.11g Wireless LAN PC card-- to go in the PC thats all fine, But how do i patch it to the LAPTOP, Its got windows 7 7068, and i know it works because some of those poeple dont encrypt their connection, (but i want to do it myself) ive had it working on the PC and the LAPTOP at the same time.Oh there is no provision on the Local Area Connection Properties for a Wireless Card (start>connect to>show all conections>local area conections>right click(the bottom one) properties. Is it supposed to be put in with a cd, coz ive downloaded and put it in but ive got no wireless tab?
Please could somebody help.?

Re: Pc to laptop

I think the proper way to do what you want to do...is via a wireless router.

Re: Pc to laptop

this is called an 'ad hoc network'

here's how to setup the wifi: http://en.kioskea.net/contents/confi...fi-ad-hoc.php3

then the hard wired card will need to be set for sharing the internet connection (click on it's properties button and you'll find a 'sharing' tab).

use the cd.
read the manual (on cd) for proper install guide, then read chapter 3 for info on setup to share internet etc...

can also get manual and newest driver here... edimax EW-7128g

Hello,

You will need to read manual is very short but important info there to follow.

Ok you do need to install from cd because there you will beable to configure the
wireless card.

Now what you will need to do after it is configured (configure it as a wireless access point).
Next you will need a bridge to connect the laptop to the pc. (software which xp already has built in). another words wireless to wireless
Go to Network connections on the pc, you should see the wireless connection.
Next click on setup a home or office network.
Now when your on the laptop and pull up view wireless connections you should see
the wireless card access point to the internet.
I recommend installing the bridge on the pc it will be easier and more secure.

I tried to put it in as simple terms as I could, its not really complicated to do it
just follow the wizard and the choices are pretty obvious to choose from also
has a view example button if your not sure which one to choose while your setting up a home or office connection.

Let me suggest some advice, I always choose office network connection (more secure) then choosing home network connection.
