Check in the Bios that the onboard sound is enabled.
Check in the Control panel>sounds and audio>AUDIO. make sure your sound card is selected. |

Re: No Audio at all on a newly wiped, fully updated xp pro pc
Hi,
Also do you have any errors in the Device Manager (yellow !?, or red x)? Have you installed the latest Audio Driver? http://www.asrock.com/mb/download.as...CoreDual-SATA2 R2.0&s=775 2nd on the list I also note that you have SP3 installed. I do not download SP3 until I know ALL drivers are working correctly. SP3 is known to cause this issue. Was SP3 downloaded? I am not sure what you mean by this: Quote:

Re: No Audio at all on a newly wiped, fully updated xp pro pc
I would uninstall SP3:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/950249 Or you can try this http://boredsysadm.blogspot.com/2008...-hd-audio.html Then reinstall the Audio driver Do you have any other errors in the Device Manager? Bill |
