[SOLVED] HP Pavilion dv2412ca Windows XP 64 Bit
Friends,
I am downgrading from Vista to Windows XP 64 Bit. I installed windows xp professional but it seems that nothing works, no sound, video not recognized, no webcam, no quick keys and finally no network. I am looking for -network driver, (I found the Wireless driver). I think it is Intel -sound driver -Nvidia graphic driver -webcam driver -5 in 1 card reader driver -quick keys and remote control driver I appreciate any help. I tried the web site, they have complete set for drivers for Vista 64 bit and limited list of drivers for xp. I am looking for XP Professional 64 Bit Thanks |

Re: HP Pavilion dv2412ca Windows XP 64 Bit
Hi,
If I am not mistaken the dv2000z cto has many of the same drivers: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...roduct=3177437 Start with the Chipset Driver first. Then Video, UAA Driver, Sound, Modem. These are XP drivers, but they are not specific as to XP 64Bit drivers. An Everest report could be helpful here. A link is under my signature. Can you run Everest and attach the FULL report to the thread? Thanks, Bill |

Re: HP Pavilion dv2412ca Windows XP 64 Bit
I was able to install video driver. I am attaching a everest report file and also a jpg of my unknown devices. I do not know why it is not recognizing the Ethernet network. Any help is much appreciated. If we managed to resolve this (and we can :)), we can post drivers for other users.
Thanks |

By the way, the video driver was installed using a moded .inf file. I am not sure if we can do the same with the intel pro network driver and other drivers.
Thanks |

Re: HP Pavilion dv2412ca Windows XP 64 Bit
Hi,
I do not think you have the Intel Pro network card. According to your report you have a MCP51 Nvidia Chipset (nForce 430/ GeForce Go 6150). This should be the driver for XP 64Bit: http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_winxp64_15.26.html Try to install it via the exe file. If that fails Extract the drivers to a folder and manually install the drivers through the Device Manager. Your Base System Devices is your Card Reader: Ricoh RL5C592 Did you install the Card Reader drivers from the link posted in post #3? Let me know what remaining errors you have in the Device Manager. Thanks, Bill |

Re: HP Pavilion dv2412ca Windows XP 64 Bit
Thanks Bill, The network driver as you said. I downloaded the file and it installed smoothly. The only thing left is the base system which I think is the HP quick keys. I tried the driver for Vista and XP from HP website but it does not want to install and says wrong OS.
When I restart it ask for 3 base system drivers (3 pop ups). One thing to go now :) :) Thanks a lot Bill. I hope you can fix this group of Base system :) :) Thanks. |

Re: HP Pavilion dv2412ca Windows XP 64 Bit
HI,
Glad to hear we are almost there. I am almost sure from your report that the Base System Devices are your Card Reader. I could be wrong though , but not usually![]() We may have to play with this, so be patient please. If I give you a driver and it does not install (Gives you an error) you may have to try to manually install the driver through the Device Manager. No matter what happens be sure to uninstall a driver BEFORE you try the next I think this is the driver you need, it is for a different model, but the code is the same. ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp37501-38000/sp37614.exe. Let me know how you make out. Thanks, Bill |
