Re: cant install my vga card

The Onboard video needs to be disabled. Boot and go into the Bios. Disable the O/B video press the F10 key . When the comp starts to boot switch it off. Insert th e new video card.

Re: cant install my vga card

Continuing Belfasteddie's good advice, go One step further, after you have shut it down and inserted the new card, when it starts to boot, enter the bios setup menu and make sure the pci-e is listed FIRST instead of the onboard card. You will need the drivers for the new card and that is all the additional software you should need.

Re: cant install my vga card

boot from the onboard
in the device manager disable the onboard
if the card is listed uninstall it
turn the computer off
install the card
change the video cable from the onboard to the card
reboot into the bios
check to see if you can disable the onboard in there and set it to detect agp or pcie first
save and exit the bios tapping f8 and choose vga mode
when windows finishes booting
disable a/virus
install your drivers for the card
reboot the computer

this card looks like the latest driver is for xp,the card may not work with vista
try windows update for the driver after you have the card installed
i think you would be better off getting a newer card

Re: cant install my vga card

look for the one that matches your card and operating system

boot into low resolution or safe mode to install the drivers and you will get a screen so you can see what you are doing
