Hi
I'm new here - hoping someone can help with my constant BSOD problem. It seems to be due to a driver error, but can find which one - the only hint that comes up in HARDWARE. My PC crashed a while back, so I took it back to the people who put it together for me, and they replaced just about everything, new RAM, videocard, motherboard. It's been giving me BSODs just about every other day since. XP SP3 Home Edition AMD Athlon(tm) 64X2 Dual Core Processor 5200+ 2.60 GHz, 1.00 GB of RAM NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS Here's my WinDbg file - I hope someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks, Kirsty |

Re: BSOD IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (a)
Could be bad memory or a overheating cpu. This link may be of help.

Re: BSOD IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (a)
Thanks - I'll borrow a memory stick from work and see how that pans out.
I've used ASUS PC Probe and Speedfan, and both have the CPU at between 34 and 42 ° Celsius, which doesn't seem too high. Interestingly, Speedfan is bringing up a 'Core' temperature of 69°C - that seems quite excessive. Could that be the issue? Thanks, K |

Re: BSOD IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (a)
Run Memtest86+ to test your RAM. Get the CD image so you can create a bootable RAM diagnostic CD. Follow the instructions on HOW TO BURN AN ISO FILE link on my sig.
As for the temp, 69C is indeed on the hot side. If this is a desktop, check temps if one of the side covers is removed. Also consider reapplying thermal compound.

Re: BSOD IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (a)
Bit the bullet and took my PC into the guys who put it together. It had started giving me long short short beep codes.
They took it right back to just the mb and it was still beeping. Yay! New motherboard for me for free - but was only 8 months old anyway. ASUS M2A-VM |

That's good news. I am glad to know you have a working system now.
Thank you for the update.
