Keep getting blue screens...
I keep getting random blue screens (random to me because I don't know what is causing them)...I'm hoping someone here can help me work this issue out...I'm assuming it's a driver issue but it very well could be an actual hard drive issue...I'm uploading a couple pictures of the blue screens I've got and my minidumps or whatever they are called...Hopefully someone can help!
Well, I had to upload to rapidshare because it was all too big to upload on here... http://rapidshare.com/files/219507710/Dump.rar Thanks in advance!! Edit: Just figured I would add a little more information that may or may not be helpful: OS: Windows Vista Business SP1 HD: WD1600YS 160GB (SATA) CD Drive: Optiarc DVD RW Ad-7190S (SATA) Motherboard: ASUS M3N72-D AM2+/AM2 NVIDIA nForce 750a SLI ATX AMD Motherboard CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5800+ 3.00 GHZ RAM: Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model BL2KIT12864AA804 GFX Card: NVIDIA GeForce 9800GTX/9800 GTX+ (BFGTech) PSU: OCZ ModXStream OCZ780MXS 780W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready Modular Active PFC Power Supply Last edited by Zervic; 04-09-2009 at 08:11 PM. |

Re: Keep getting blue screens...
Hi,
The minidumps show mostly memory related faults, one fileinfo.sys and like two or three ecache.sys related faults. I suggest you run hardware checks first. Run HDD diagnostics and RAM tests. Resolve any problems in hardware as needed. As for the ecache.sys, check this document: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/941020 Run CHKDSK /R and also SFC /SCANNOW at the command prompt. I suggest you keep your Vista up to date.
