Multiport Communications Port (COM3) Issue, may be reason for my recent unstable 'net

Hey, recently I've been having internet problems, my ISP (Bigpond) have done numerous things to try fix it, and we've come to the conclusion it's not a problem on their end or my modem/cables/etc, so it's something to do with my PC/drivers.

The problem consists of my speed starting to drop/have trouble loading content then eventually doing a mini timeout or dropping down eventually, it's as if it can't handle simple traffic anymore and it's causing it problems.

I've tried doing ping tests/etc to multiple sites, and they end up going fine then just 1 or 2 random timeouts that last 5 seconds then back to normal, sometimes more/less and longer/shorter.

In Device Manager under Ports

Multiport Communications Port (COM3) has the yellow circle with black exclamation mark. It says the device has a problem, I'm thinking this may be the cause of my 'net problem.

I'm using XP Home Edition with SP2.

HI,
What is the make and model of this computer?
What is the error code?
If you right click on the error (Com3)>Properties>Details Tab
Post the info you find under Device Instance ID

I'm currently having EXACTLY the same problem as you.
I've also been having net problems and my multiport communications port is not working either...
