re-formated, drivers won't load

I had a virus and did a clean reformat. windows seemed to load ok but a bunch of drivers are missing. tried the resource disc and it didn't help. Any ideas?

by the resource disk do you mean the drivers disc that came with the motherboard or pc? what are the specs on you pc is it homebuilt or store bought?

It's a Dell laptop. There was the OS disc then the Dell resource disc. After loading windows I had no internet, sound control, plus some other stuff. When I checked device manager ther were a bunch of those yellow marks.

what is on the Resource disk ? have you gone to the dell website to download the device drivers?

there are drivers, utilities and applications on the disc but they are not working. I can't download from their site because I can't get online.

You can use the machine you are on now to download the drivers from here:

http://support.dell.com/support/down...=us&l=en&s=gen

Enter your Service tag numnber to narrow the choices of drivers to the ones that apply to your pc. Burn the downloads to cd or copy to flash and install on the Dell
