and welcome to the Forum

You can let the HP site scan the system and find your drivers

http://www.hp.com/#Support

You do not have much memory and what you have is in the wrong slot. XP runs best with at least 512 MB and you only have 256

Re: .A.u.d.i.o. .d.r.i.v.e.r. .n.e.e.d.e.d.

The HP site doesnt detect anyting because ive lost the restore cd and i put on a version of windows XP that didnt come with the computer. So The HP site doesnt work.

As for "XP runs best on 512". Thats besides the point, its the driver im after.

Im still yet to find it, thanks for the effort.

Hi,

Seeing we do not have a model # for this computer, can you tell us what you have for errors in the Device Manager (yellow!? or Red x)

Please post the errors.

Also can you Right Click (on each error)>Properties>Details Tab
Post the info you find under Device Instance ID.

Thanks,
Bill

Unfortunately, after days and days of installing random drivers, I finally found the right one.

If anyone has the same specs then I will link you to the driver.

Thanks.

Hi,
I am glad to hear you have your sound back, but you never listed your model #

The specs you posted do not contain the info related to your sound.

I am sorry you spent days searching, but the model # or info for you sound card would have been helpful to us.

Anyways I am glad you can HEAR again!

Thanks,
Bill
