Cannot find drivers sound on a HP a6110n with XP

I bought this computer a while ago (HP Pavilion a6110n Desktop PC with Vista on it). I decided to get it out again and fire it up again. It had vista on it, but i went and switched it to XP Professional. Everything went fine, i found drivers for my Nvidia 8600 GTS and my Network Card. Then i saw that i have no volume controller in the bottom right hand side of my screen. I went to the control panel to turn in back on and EVERY SINGLE SOUND OPTION is greyed out. I can control nothing. I looked for some sound drivers (thinking something happened putting XP on this computer), but they all are for vista since the computer came stock with Vista. I'm not even sure if a correct driver will fix the driver.

Another thing that might help is that when i used to use this computer, everytime i would plug in a new earpone jack or something of that nature, it would alert me that a new jack had been found. It doesnt do that either.

Thanks for the help.

Jack.

Hi Jack,
You have downgraded to XP from Vista.

What SP pack is installed?

Can you go to the Device Manager and post all the errors you have (yellow !? or Red x)

As far as the Soud issue I know what drivers you need (Realtek AHD Audio), but i need to know what other errors you have first.

Thanks,
Bill
