My System

the system is using generic video driver..

Hello,

i used that DXDIAG by typing it in the START MENU-->RUN and details shown are these:

My problem is, I can't open any installed games on my PC, and I think this "generic video driver" is causing that problem. Can someone help me on this?

Re: the system is using generic video driver..

Hi,
I am not sure what video card is installed on your computer?
If you are using the on-board vide card, you can try to reinstall it:

Select your OS
(Under VGA)

Have you gone into your Display Properties and tried to adjust the resoulution?
If you are using the On-board video card it may not be adequate to play newer games.

Bill

PS- I have deleted your other post and will respond to this one only.

Re: the system is using generic video driver..

Someone posted a thread telling that to locate my video driver, i must right click on the black part of the desktop then properties then settings. under the monitor logo, there is a display and under it there is the:

(monitor model) on (video card model)

but, when I try it, it only shows:

(Default Monitor) on <blank>

It seems like there is no video card installed in my computer.

I went also in Display Control Panel->Advanced->Adapter->Properties but there is no written there except for a "VGA dll" thing (not sure because I'm in a computer shop and my PC have no internet connection)

Will I have to buy a video card or just updating that "invisible" video card installed in my PC?

P.S. The link you gave above is not working.

Hi,
Try the link again it should be working now.
Do you have any errors in the Device Manager (Yellow !?, or Red X)?
