Re: need help!!compaq pressario 714nr...
HI,
You should have XP SP2 to install these drivers. Install the Drivers in this order. If you run into an issue please post before going onto the next driver. From the report you need to install these drivers. Download and SAVE the files to a folder so you know where they are. Chipset: http://downloadmirror.intel.com/1452...inst_autol.exe Run the Setup exe. file Install and reboot Video (Graphics): http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Deta...ition&lang=eng Run the Setup exe. file Install and reboot Wireless Lan driver: Broadcom http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp36501-37000/sp36684.exe Run the Setup exe. file Install and reboot Broadcom Wireless Utility: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp36501-37000/sp36686.exe Run the Setup exe. file Install and reboot MS UAA Driver: http://geekswithblogs.net/lorint/arc.../11/81540.aspx Scroll down to Q888111 and install Q888111 for XP SP2 Run the Setup exe. file Install and reboot. Modem Driver: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp36001-36500/sp36089.exe Extract the file to a folder. Note what folder you extract the divers to. Manually install the driver through the Device Manager directing it to the folder you extracted. Reboot Audio: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp36001-36500/sp36090.exe Extract the file to a folder. Note what folder you extract the divers to. Manually install the driver through the Device Manager directing it to the folder you extracted. Reboot HP Touchpad/Quick Launch Buttons: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...548227&lang=en Post any remaining errors Let me know how you make out. Re: need help!!compaq pressario 714nr...
Hi Adi300,
Sorry for the delay. To install the drivers you have to do it MANUALLY. Make a New Folder in MY Documents (Rename it so you know what it is) The easiest way is to Right Click on the Driver>Extract>Browse to the folder you made in My Documents Once the File is Extracted to the folder you made: Go to the Device Manager>Right click on the Modem Driver (PCI simple Communiction Device).Update>No not this time>Install from a specific location (Advance)>Include this location in the search>Browse to the folder you made. Xp should go to that folder and install the drivers. You need to do this for the Modem and Audio drivers. Bill |

Re: need help!!compaq pressario 714nr...
Hi,
Lets try this: Run the 2 Conexant (Audio/Modem)drivers you downloaded to the desktop. Install the Audioo driver first After running the two Conexant packages above, the driver files will be extracted to C:\SWSetup\SPxxxxx. Open MY Computer Open C: Drive You should see a folder that states SWSetup. This is where your drivers are stored. SP36090 is your Audio SP36089 is the Modem Go to the Device Manager. Right-click on the 'unknown' audio device> Update Driver. The Hardware Update wizard will open Select: No not this time> Next Select: Install from a specific location (Advanced)>Next. Select: Don't search I will choose the driver to install>Next. In the list of common hardware types, scroll down and select Sound, Video, and Game controllers> Next. In the resulting dialogue box, click Have Disk. Browse to the folder where SP36090 was extracted (C:\SWSetup\SP36090) and select CpV30D5a.inf >OK In the next dialogue box select Conexant High Definition Audio-Venice 5045. If XP complains ignore it and let it allow to continue installing the drivers. Reboot the PC Do the same thing for the modem, except the extraction folder will be C:\SWSetup\SP36089 and the INF is SprtHD5m.inf. See if this works for you. Thanks, Bill |

Select: No not this time> Next Select: Install from a specific location (Advanced)>Next. Select: Don't search I will choose the driver to install>Next. In the list of common hardware types, scroll down and select Sound, Video, and Game controllers" so if i was doing like you said wasn`t good...but if after Don't search I will choose the driver to install>Next. i select all drives it was ok... i dont know why... so thanks a lot!! |
