no sound after downgrading from vista to xp pro
Hi i just downgraded as they call it from vista to XP pro after solving many problems I'M still left with no sound. i have a Hp pavilion model a6412p . hp offers no xp sound drivers for this unit. device manager says no audio device installed. i tried the realtek driver no luck. this machine has on board sound & would appear to have no slot for a typical sound card. is there a driver that will enable my on board sound. i have already installed chip set drivers and justcant seem to find drivers for the sound

Re: no sound after downgrading from vista to xp pro
Hi,
Here are the specs for your system: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/d...roduct=3704514 and http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/d...roduct=3704514 Seeing this is a downgrade I want to make sure the Chipset driver is installed first: Chipset Driver: Intel G33 http://downloadcenter.intel.com/filt...4&submit=Go%21 #2 on the list Video Driver: Integrated graphics using Intel GMA 3100 http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Deta...ional&lang=eng Lan Driver: http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...&GetDown=false You should have XP SP2 installed and Net. Framework 2.0. Do not install SP3 until all The drivers are installed and functioning correctly SP2: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en Net Framework 2.0: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en Microsoft UAA Driver: http://geekswithblogs.net/lorint/arc.../11/81540.aspx Scroll down to Q888111 and select SP2 Audio Driver: Realtek HD Audio http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...3&DownTypeID=3 Let us know of any remaining errors in the Device Manager. Thanks, Bill |
