I got a ASUS A7N8x rev 2.00 from a friend. He took everything except ram and PSU and vid. i added a western 40 gb and a couple cd drives. i installed xp pro with pack 2. now i cant get it online. when i plug in the lights blink but no connect. i use this for my repair station. for testing hard drives and such. fixing this would be alot easier than going else whare to get online to look up somthing. My friend Had this in a bar for networking all the sound and video. not sure what part in the network it was.Plus it does not retain cmos info if power is lost. goes to default.

Re: dual LAN worked there and got home to it dead.
HI,
You need to install the drivers: http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?l1...16&modelmenu=1 Click on Download link on the left. You may also have to replace the CMOS Battery (By the PCI Slots) to avoid it going back to Default settings |

Turn off the PC, Modem, Router (Unplug them)
Turn on the Modem and wait a few minutes Turn on the router(If you have one) and wait a few minutes Power up the PC, wait for the PC to assign an IP address. Check for a connection. |

While it may be a stupid suggestion, and rather demeaning - but silly things are often overlooked.
Your not using crossover cables from pc to router\switch are you? |

Disable you Anti virus and see if you can get on-line (TEMPORARY)
What is the anti-virus you are using? Bill |

Are you able to get on-line?
Are there any errors in the Device Manager? What did you find out about you Anti-Virus? What firewall are you using? Bill |
