Looking 4 Driver for TSST Corp LS632M

Hello all. I'm hoping that a driver and/or firmware update will solve my issue. My laptop's drive is a dvd/cd rom drive. The ONLY thing it can do is read CD's. It can't burn CD's or read/burn DVD's. Not sure what happened, but I unfortunately learned to live without it. I don't want my laptop sitting on a tech's bench while it is repaired. Any idea where I might be able to find updated drivers or firmware? Thanks.

Hi,
The drivers come with Vista.
Do you have any errors in the Device Manager?
Have you deleted the Upper/Lower Filters?:

My laptop came with Vista, so I don't think that the link applies. There are no errors. The discs remain blank, even though the burning process is normal.

It will still apply.
See if deleting the filters resolves your issue.
What is the make and model of the laptop?

Re: Looking 4 Driver for TSST Corp LS632M

Hi,
I have checked the HP site for updated firmware, but there is none.
Can you confirm this drive. I have googled it with no results.
Go to the device manager>DVD/CD-Rom and open the + sign.
Post what is listed.

What is the Burning/DVD program you use?
Did you Delete the Upper/Lower Filters?

Thanks,
Bill

Re: Looking 4 Driver for TSST Corp LS632M

"EU6420U KAl934N SCSI CdRom Device" and "TSST corp CD/DVDW TS-L632M ATA Device"

I use Nero 7 Ultra Edition, but the issue isn't just burning. It will NOT read a DVD. It will ONLY read a CD and it will burn neither. And yes, I did delete those filters.

Re: Looking 4 Driver for TSST Corp LS632M

Try this link:
http://aumha.org/downloads/cdgone.zip

Note: I would backup the registry before running this program.

Download and extract the files to a folder
Double click on the cdgone.reg You will be prompted by Vista to install the file. Allow the file to install in all prompts.
Once done REBOOT the Computer.

Check to see if the drive works.

If you are still unable to burn or read DVD's try uninstalling and reinstalling Nero.
If you are still unable to burn or read DVD chances are the drive is faulty.

Hope this helps,
Bill
