Please help, Drivers uninstalling themselves!

Hey guys i really need help here.
This problem has happened on and off since i built this system about 5-6 months ago: I start from a fresh reformat, install XP with no problems but as i begin to install video card and sound card drivers everything starts going to hell. The sound and resolution work fine for a few hours then the drivers start to get errors, always in the video card and sound card... also the computer will often quickly flash a blue screen of death and then crash and restart... On some reboots the mouse even stops working.
Please help me out guys i really want to get this computer working right because when it is running right its really great.
XP home SP2
Asus P5KSE
Core Duo 2.66
2gigs of DDR2
Nvidia 8800gt
SB audigy 2 ZS

Another strange thing is, my soundblaster shows up under dxdiag but there is no volume control on the bottom right corner...
thanks guys.
